The Awards Ceremony for the 6th Grade Urban Sprawl Map Design Contest was Thursday. The 6th-grade students created real-life Smart Growth Proposals for the Lincoln Lanes Country Club land in Walker for their Performance Assessments. They were excited to pass off their projects to a team of judges at the Walker city commission that included; Mayor Carey, 2 commissioners, and the assistant city manager who judged the final round of contestants. Congratulations to the top 3 winners of each class from Mr. Koch and Mrs. Gilbert's classrooms:
Audrey Van’t Hof
And a special congratulations go to the 3 winners chosen by the Walker Mayor team panel: Reese Willick, Eve Thayer, and Maxx Jason. They received certificates of achievement, gift cards, and an on-the-spot interview with the mayor. Great job students for applying smart growth principles of urban planning to a "real-world" situation AND being such awesome hosts to our guests. It's great to be a Kenowa Hills Knight!

This can be used by staff, students, and their families. Please see our webpage for more on the Pine Rest Student Assistant Program.
Immunization rates have dropped to alarming low rates!Michigan Department of Health & Human Services wants to remind parents of the Michigan School Immunization requirements and that all Michigan schools are required to report immunization information to the health department regardless of their child’s mode of instruction (in-person, virtual, and combinations of both). Thank you for helping us keep our community safe from vaccine preventable diseases!
