5th Grade Graduation!

Wednesday June 9th (also a half day and the last day of school)

Time: 9:00 am start, students will walk the halls (parade) at 8:50 and finish outside of the ELA in the open playground area. We are asking that we limit the number of guests to two per student. I know we will be outside but we also have limited parking. Bring Your Own Chair! This will be a little less formal being outside. We expect it to last approximately 40 minutes or less. Parents will be expected to stay outside unless they need to use the restroom in the main entrance. Students will get a small treat and can take some time for pictures and to sign their Zinser shirt after. Park by the gym, or across the street at the church.

We will be having a Flag Lowering Ceremony at 10:15 am, outside by the flag. We will honor the Mr. V Kids Who Care award, as well as the top AR award. Parents can come back and take their student home after the Flag Lowering Ceremony at 10:45 or wait until the 12:05 dismissal. Kona Ice will be across the street from 11:15-1:00 if you'd like to take your student with their classmates for a treat!

Pine Rest Partnership

Our district has partnered with Pine Rest to provide some great services to each of you. We are now a part of the Student and Employee Assistance Programs (SAP and EAP). There are many parts to this program that will be explained in detail moving forward. The services provided are available to ALL students and their families as well as ALL staff and their families. The services begin now and last through the end of the 2021-2022 school year.

Please review the attached slides to learn about the free services that are provided including confidential counseling, a crisis hotline, elder care consultation, legal consultation, financial consultation and an expansive online library. Your use of these services will be completely confidential and the district will only be notified of the number of uses rather than any specifying information.

In the event you utilize a service you will need to identify yourself as a SAP member to avoid any fees. If you have any questions about what is being provided or how to access services please feel free to reach out to Ashley Anderson, our Child Behavior Specialist. Thank you!

A Night at the Berlin Raceway…Zinser Elementary needs your help!

June 12th
July 24th
August 7th

Kenowa Hills Public Schools has partnered with Berlin! We have the opportunity to volunteer at the concession stands during three different race nights and in turn we will earn money for the school. This fundraiser will support activities for next year, father events, supplies for the classrooms (that are not supported with other monies), field trips and more. Please use the attached link to sign up for one or more of these nights. (Watchdog dad, Don Deyman, will be helping, and this is a photo of his car!)

REDEFINED

Our Personal Mastery educational experience has redefined education and has gained attention around the state and nation. Personal Mastery provides your child with personalized attention from teachers. Instead of teaching to a broad group of students without understanding of their individual strengths and weaknesses, Personal Mastery allows teachers to interact with students individually or in small groups to help them better address their weaknesses. In this way, we strive to help your child reach their full potential.
